Casual Vacancies and Wallflowers

So, it's been pretty much exactly a month since I last posted.  But there really doesn't seem to be a lot going on in the world of Harry Potter.  I honestly can't think of anything that's happened recently, with the exception of LeakyCon.  However, there is some stuff that has to do with people related to Harry Potter.

Speaking of LeakyCon, an annual Harry Potter convention, it was held this year in Chicago from August 9-12.  I didn't go, even though I would've loved to, it sounded like it was really fun.  For anyone out there who's a Starkid fan, they performed a musical at LeakyCon called "A Very Potter Senior Year" or something along those lines (don't quote me on that though).  I don't really follow Starkid very closely, but I've heard it's going to be put up on Youtube for people who didn't get to see it.  Don't quote me on that either.

And if you're looking to plan your trip for next year's LeakyCon, it seems that they're already making preparations!  LeakyCon 2013 will be held in TWO cities - one in Portland, Oregon from June 27-30 and another in London, England from August 8-11!  For more information, go to http://leakycon.com/2013.html.

Now, in other news, it's just about a month until J.K. Rowling's new adult book, The Casual Vacancy, is released!  I'm sure many Potter fans are counting down the days until it comes out.  As for me, I'm going to be perfectly honest and say I'm not certain how excited I am.  Yes, I think I'd like to read it, but it is for adults.  Plus, I just started reading both Divergent and The Fellowship of the Ring, which I believe are both the beginnings of trilogies, and both are very interesting so far, so who knows how long it'll take me to get through all those books?  Therefore, I'll probably get around to reading The Casual Vacancy sooner or later, but I think it's safe to say you won't find me at any midnight releases or anything like that.

For all you Emma Watson lovers, her movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower comes out soon as well!  Based off the book of the same name, (and directed by the book's author,) Emma stars in this along with Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller.  I'm looking forward to this movie, though I'm hoping it's very, very different from the book.  I read the book, and frankly I didn't think it was that great.  Plus there were some parts that were quite disturbing that I really hope they don't show in the movie...  But if you want to find out a bit more, check out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1659337/.

That's all I really have at the moment.  I'm sure the minute I click 'publish' I'll think of something else to say and kick myself for not thinking of it before, but until then...  Turn to page 394. :)
